This document is a readme of the files generated for the manuscript “Multi-decadal basal melt rates and structure of the Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica using airborne ice penetrating radar” by Das et al., JGR, 2020. ROSETTA-Ice Total Thickness: ~ File Naming Convention: rs_2019_DICE_IceThickness.txt ~ The ascii file contains thickness values form all three ROSETTA seasons and has three columns: latitude, longitude, and total ice thickness (m) from Deep ICE (DICE) Radar. ~ The thickness picks provided from the DICE radar has been cleaned for outliers in this derived product of the total ice thickness. ROSETTA-Ice LMI Thickness: ~ File Naming Convention: SIR_L_lines_Internal_LayerLMI_Thickness.txt SIR_T_lines_Internal_LayerLMI_Thickness.txt ~ The ascii files contains thickness values form all three ROSETTA seasons and has three columns: latitude, longitude, and LMI ice thickness (m) from Shallow Ice Radar (SIR). ~ LMI Thicknesses derived from ROSETTA SIR data have been split into T-lines (tie lines) and L-lines (lateral lines) respectively. ~ The thickness picks provided from the SIR radar has been extensively cleaned for outliers and any thickness >300m have been discarded. Basal Melt: ~ File Naming Convention: BasalMelt_Das_JGR2020.txt ~ The ascii file is the final basal melt rate calculation used in Figure 7 of Das et al. 2020 (JGR), and has three columns: Longitude, Latitude, and basal melt rates in m a^(-1). Strain Induced Thickness Change - ELMER Model: ~ File Naming Convention: strain_induced_thickness_change_ELMER_Model_Das_JGR2020.txt ~ This ascii file is the final strain rate calculation using ELMER/Ice model, and has three columns: Latitude, Longitude, and strain-induced thickness change in m a^(-1). Strain Induced Thickness Change - Satellite: ~ File Naming Convention: strain_induced_thickness_change_satellite_Das_JGR_2020.txt ~ This ascii file is the final strain rate calculation using satellite velocity from the MeASURES Project, and has three columns: Latitude, Longitude, and strain-induced thickness change in m a^(-1). Error Analysis Basal Melt: ~ File Naming Convention: ErrorAnalysis_BasalMelt_Das_JGR2020.txt ~ This ascii file is the error estimates of basal melt used in Figure 8 of Das et al. 2020 (JGR), and has three columns: Latitude, Longitude, and errors in basal melt rates in m a^(-1).
